About our classes

The foundation of our studio is the classic 26+2 hot yoga series known as Bikram Yoga, which is a powerful practice designed to transform your body and mind.

Performed in a heated room, this unique 90-minute session consists of 26 postures and two breathing exercises, strategically designed to build strength, flexibility, and endurance. The heat helps to detoxify the body, improve circulation, and enhance the deeper stretching of muscles, while the steady flow of poses promotes balance and mental clarity.

Practicing Bikram yoga can lead to increased energy, reduced stress, better focus, and weight loss, making it an ideal way to improve both physical and mental well-being.

Beginners Yoga

Bikram yoga is perfect for beginners because it follows a consistent series of 26 beginning yoga postures and two breathing exercises, making it easy to learn and improve with each class.

The structured format allows you to focus on building strength, flexibility, and balance at your own pace, while the heated room helps loosen muscles for deeper stretches and reduces the risk of injury.

With the guidance of experienced instructors, you’ll feel supported and confident as you embark on your yoga journey, making it an ideal introduction to the practice.

Your First Class

All you need to do is come with a mat, towel, and water.  These are available at our studio, if needed.  Bring clothes you are comfortable stretching (and sweating) in.  Plan on coming in 20 minutes before class to sign in and set yourself up in the room.  We have showers and lockers available for you.

The first class is about allowing yourself to adjust to the heat.  Make it your goal to stay in the room for the full 90 minutes, everything else comes with time.

The Heat

We practice in a room heated to 105 degrees and 40% humidity.  This is designed to decrease injury, increase flexibility, and improve your circulatory system.  Bikram yoga has been associated with decreased blood pressure, lowered anxiety levels, and an overall better sense of wellbeing.

Studies have shown that heat exposure can have a significant impact on oxygen transfer from your red blood cells into the body, so when you practice in a heated room you recieve more oxygen to more parts of your body, resulting in a heightened feeling of wellbeing and clarity.
